Biography

Markos is a U.S. Army Special Forces Officer with a decade of experience in Light Infantry and Special Operations units. Markos has deployed multiple times in support of combat and contingency operations across the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Defense and Strategic Studies. As a General Wayne A. Downing Scholar with West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center, he plans to specialize in Cyber Policy and Security. Markos’ research interests include the application of Artificial Intelligence for strategic-level decision-making and how Machine Learning can be applied in support of counterterrorism and crisis response operations. Markos and his wife, Jordan, are grateful for the opportunity to call Stanford home.
