Biography

Julia joins the MIP program after two years of working at Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), a research and advocacy organization. At EDF, she focused on international climate policy, including issues related to just transition, climate finance, carbon pricing, and environmental and climate justice. Julia’s work has consisted of publishing reports and articles, contributing to government projects, and participating in advocacy efforts at the UN climate conferences (COP26 and COP27). 

Julia completed her BA at Princeton University, majoring in public and international affairs and minoring in environmental studies, history and the practice of diplomacy, and journalism. Her thesis on localized movements for environmental justice and clean air received the Environmental Studies Book Prize in Social Science. At Stanford, she is particularly interested in learning about energy and agriculture, with a focus on climate adaptation and legal systems. Julia plays the cello and harp, and you can often find her outside biking, running, or hiking.
