Join us on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to launch Francis Fukuyama's latest book, "In the Realm of the Last Man: A Memoir."

Stanford's Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) will host a conversation with Francis Fukuyama on his new memoir, In the Realm of the Last Man, which weaves his own life story together with the last fifty years of political history and the ongoing crisis of liberal democracy.

Fukuyama, Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at Stanford's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and Mosbacher Director of CDDRL, will discuss the book and take questions from the audience. 

Copies of In the Realm of the Last Man will be available for purchase at the event, and a book signing and reception with the author will follow the talk.
